Hope Healers Fall 24' Volunteer Registration is OPEN!!

We are looking for 10-15 diverse students presenting a range of multicultural and multi-faith backgrounds to assist in our tutorial programing hosted by Grant A.M.E. Church. Participants should be prepared to engage with students and; or support church school staff depending on volunteer preferences. Our program supports students attending Boston Public Schools such as Boston Latin and other students in the Roxbury community who are in need of one on one hw help, lesson reteaching and curriculum rebuilding. This is a mentorship and learning opportunity to aid the academic re-entry process and give Boston public students of the community a chance to bridge their academic learning gaps encountered post Covid-19. We have available tutoring roles for our virtual & on-site location at Grant A.M.E; but also Northeastern's Roxbury Crossing Building and Boston Latin School.

We also offer church school programming, Saturday S.T.E.A.M & Climate Action Through Education programming! “STEAM plays a role in our lives without us even knowing it. Superintendent Skipper is committed to ensuring that BPS is a national leader in STEAM education so that our students can conquer the math and science challenges of tomorrow”-BPS Weekly Update. In our S.T.E.A.M. programming all students are exposed to hands on activities, college & career pathways, and real-world application explored through S.T.E.A.M. based projects & experiences.

Boston Latin: 2pm-6pm M,T,W,TH

S.T.E.A.M. Saturdays;Located at Northeastern crossing: 10am-2pm 1st &3rd Saturdays October-December& January-May

About Hope Healers:

Legacy Life Community Center Inc. partners with The Hope Healers Tutorial program, as well as Northeastern University, and Grant A.M.E. Church school "Kings Kidz Church School" to produce opportunities for our students and members of our community. Community service is our way of combating academic disadvantages- we want to create opportunities for mentors and tutoring leaders to help bridge the learning gaps within the community of their environment.Through the Legacy Life Community Center partnership, Hope Healers Tutorial program intends to provide tutoring services to inner city Boston public students who are struggling to bridge academic gaps happening throughout grades 3-8, with hopes to branch out to high school level scholars in need of further academic assistance. Our collaboration with Grant A.M.E. church allows students of faith an opportunity to learn more about their faith and spirituality. GRANT A.M.E. and our church school department "Kings Kidz" has a mission statement to “Minister to the social, spiritual, and physical development of all people”. Students who are in need of spiritual guidance often find their purpose and individuality through faith and service developed within our program.
